Students and parents who choose the GIVE Option have an opportunity to begin school on the school day following his or her disciplinary hearing. Those who wish to take this opportunity must follow these guidelines :
A parent or guardian must attend orientation with student and complete all the information necessary for enrollment.
Students must arrive in GIVE dress code. Students not in proper dress code will not be allowed to begin school until he or she is able to meet dress code standards.
Following the student’s panel – please call 770-338-4855 to schedule an Orientation. GIVE Center East Orientation is held daily and begins promptly at 7:30 a.m. Parents should meet in the front office of the GIVE Center and check in with the secretary.
Students and parents will participate in an introductory orientation to the GIVE Center and parents will complete the necessary items for enrollment.
Students who are in proper dress code will spend time with a counselor from the GIVE Center following orientation. Here they will receive a more detailed, student-centered orientation to the GIVE Center and complete our GIVE 101 program. Students will travel to our cafeteria for lunch. Students will need to ring money to buy lunch in the café’ or they may bring a sack lunch on the first day. Following lunch, students will be given a schedule of classes to follow while he or she is enrolled at GIVE. The registrar will escort each student to his or her class.
Following the first day of school, students are expected to arrive to school each day at 6:45 a.m. and are expected to be picked up each day before 2:00 p.m. at the student drop off area.
Extensive involvement of the parent/guardian is expected in all of The GIVE Center activities. A Contract will be drawn up for the parent's/guardian's signature for all students entering The GIVE Center. Parent Group meeting evening meetings will be scheduled periodically during the school year. The primary purpose of these meetings will be to offer all parents an opportunity to provide feedback to the school for our mission of continuous school improvement. Parents are welcome as volunteers in the school at any time. If interested, please speak with any of our faculty. Other parent contacts are scheduled as needed and appropriate during the student's enrollment to include conferences and phone contacts.
